Encouraged by her elementary school teacher, Calanda embarked on her writing journey at a young age. Each year, she was selected to represent her school at the Young Authors Conference at the University of Alabama. In middle school, she teamed up with her classmate Jacquelyn to create numerous short stories, further fueling her passion for storytelling.

Over the years, Calanda expanded her craft, writing several short stories, a play, and a script. Most recently, she published her book, Vahalla Love story. When she’s not writing, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
